Stroud attended Rancho Cucamonga high school and during his tenure completed 63 percent of his passes for 6,220 yards and 66 touchdowns. Despite those numbers Stroud was the last quarterback in his class to make it into the Elite 11. A prestigious football competition for high school athletes. Determined to prove his place among the top qb's in the nation Stroud won MVP and dominated the field workouts with a perfect score. On Dec. 18, 2019 Stroud signed his letter of intent to Ohio State University. In both years Stroud started at Ohio State he became a Heisman trophy finalist and named conference player of the year.

The Traits

Stroud is as technically polished as it gets at the quarterback position. He displays a smooth and tight release with great footwork in the pocket. Whoever winds up drafting Stroud will have to spend very little time on mechanics and throwing motion. Stroud understands what open means at the next level with the ability to fit the ball into tight windows. The ball placement jumps out at you when evaluating his film. Almost every throw is right in the bread basket. Shown the ability to look off the safety, read coverage and get through his progressions. Has better arm strength and power than given credit for. Can make off platform throws and ability to operate off schedule as shown in Norte Dame and Georgia games but more comfortable inside the pocket. Relies on touch and accuracy a little too much at times. Will have to show ability to make throws at different arm angles at next level. Nonetheless a top 5 pick and franchise quarterback.
